Choosing a childbirth class

There are many choices when it comes to choosing a childbirth class.  The type of class you choose depends on the type of birth experience you are looking for.  Many hospitals have affordable classes but they often teach generic skills and what to expect in the hospital as well as how to be a compliant patient.  Out-of-hospital classes offer a wide variety of quality instruction which includes labor stages, partner involvement, coping techniques, choices and options, risks and benefits.  Some methods to consider are The Bradley Method, Birthing from Within, HypnoBirthing, or LaMaze.
